Because Every Day is Father's Day.....

Holidays, to many people, signify a break in regular things that people do every day, such as the absence of early morning alarms, or going to work. Most people don’t wake up early on Christmas morning, or go to work on Memorial Day. Similarly, Fathers Day is marked in the presence of special activities. Children wake up early to make breakfast in bed for their dads. They spend time making cards with special messages, or wrap up gifts to present to their dads. These are the things that make Fathers Day unlike every other day, the things that make fathers feel special.

Some kids may not be able  to make breakfast in bed for their dads. They may not be able to  make cards, or wrap up presents. However, they make fathers day just as special as anyone

Fathers day is a reminder that we value our dads. The bond between a child and their father is irreplaceable. The way a child expresses this bond varies, from a tangible gift, to a simple expression when they look at their dads, an expression that conveys, wordlessly, the love they have for their fathers.

Jeff Davidson, a writer, and a dad of a special needs child says this in his blog post titled Because every day is Father’s Day, “I will be a better dad today because of [my son].

I will be a better man today because of [my son].” To him, his son's impact on his life is clear, and does not need the act of giving a gift, or writing a card to show him it is there.

He explains, “My son is totally non-verbal and so for the seventeenth consecutive year, he won’t wish me Happy Father’s Day. Truthfully, my son won’t even know that it is Father’s Day or what that even means. But there are some things he will notice and that will resonate with him. When he gets up, he will find that his dad is still there. Not just there, but involved and engaged with him.” To him, he values the fact that his son has someone to count on. His role in his son’s life is  irreplaceable.

Father’s day, for some people, is different from other days because of things that follow because it is Fathers day. Cards, gifts, and special acts of kindness from your kids. For other people, Father’s day is simply a day to remember and acknowledge the love your child has for their father. Love for a dad does not waver, every child loves their day and Father’s Day will always continue to be as special as they are!!
